Album Review: One Love-- New Edition

The Originators Posted by Hello

After 8 years since the last album of all new material, New Edition has reunited and returned with "One Love" on Bad Boy Records. 17 tracks of true boy band stylings like none other than New Edition can produce.

Old school New Edition fans may have been thrown off by the single "Hot 2 nite", but will certainly be pleased wit the rest of the album. Classic NE melodies shine through on such tracks as "Re-Write The Memories" and "Wildest Dreams". Even some new school reinvention show up on such tracks as " All On You","Sexy Lady" and "Start Turning Me On" (which, by the way is my personal fave track on the CD right now). Even though we don't see Bobby, this is still a classic New Edition venture.

Although sometimes Ronnie and Mike can be a little annoying with their pseudo-rap skills, all in all the album is, in my opinion, a beautiful comeback. Kudos to the boys from Boston (well, at least 4 of them, anyway) from coming back and showing how it should be done.

I hear you, cause I was thinking the same thing. I must say, though, they really did good. I don't know how the rest of this partnership with Bad Boy is gonna go, but it looks good so far...
